Using a Rain Machine with Fitness Photography

I've been wanting to create a series of some athletes training outdoors, while battling Mother Nature herself.

My idea was to construct a rain machine, so that I could execute this idea the most efficiently. I partnered up with the good people over at FringeSport to make this happen.

In Texas, the weather can be all over the place. 9am could be a beautiful morning with a blissful sunrise, and by 1pm there's a storm. So I knew I had to create the environment with what was available to us.

I planned this shoot around the weather to the best of the forecasts abilities. We settled on a week in mid April, where it was supposed to be overcast/raining for the entirety of the week. Unfortunately, the day we picked just happened to clear up within an hour of setup.

I ended up having to do some work in post to pull the images to life, but I still quite enjoyed the turnout.

Thanks to Nick Bare and Taylor Dayne for modeling this shoot!
